Peyton, age 9 from Boise, Idaho, asks Santa about PetSmart photos, Idaho’s potato farming, and Boise’s community spirit.
Dear Santa, my name is Peyton, and I am nine years old. I live in Boise, Idaho, where my dad says our whole state grows so many potatoes that people joke we could feed the entire country.
Dear Peyton, Idaho’s potatoes have fueled more than a few of my rest stops over the years, your dad picked a truly hearty hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Can I get PetSmart pictures with Santa? My dog really wants his photo taken this year.
Many pet stores, including that one, do host special photo sessions with a Santa figure during the season, Peyton. Ask a grown-up to check the schedule near you, your dog deserves a proper festive portrait.
My dad says Idaho is famous for growing more potatoes than almost any other state. Is that true?
It is true, Peyton, Idaho leads the country in potato production, thanks to its rich volcanic soil. I always enjoy flying over those neat, orderly fields on my way to your rooftop.
My dad says Boise is known for being a friendly, community-focused city where neighbors really look out for each other. Is that true?
It is true, Peyton, Boise has built a real reputation for community spirit and neighborly kindness. That kind of everyday looking out for one another is exactly the sort of thing I hope every child carries with them.
Merry Christmas, Santa.
Your friend,
Peyton Miller
Boise, Idaho
P.S. Will my dog’s photo make it into your workshop collection?
Absolutely, Peyton, good dog photos are always welcome additions.
