Dear Santa, my name is Live, and I am nine years old. I live in Stavanger, Norway, where my farfar says a huge flat rock cliff nearby drops straight down into a fjord.
Dear Live, a cliff like that makes for one of the most dramatic sights on my entire route, your farfar picked a truly breathtaking hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
What is Santa optics? My cousin used that phrase but I was not totally sure what she meant.
I am honestly not certain what that particular phrase refers to myself, Live, there are simply so many unusual terms floating around these days. You and your cousin might enjoy figuring it out together.
My farfar says the cliff near us, called Preikestolen, drops straight down into a fjord. Is that true?
It is true, Live, Preikestolen rises dramatically above Lysefjord, a sheer drop that always takes my breath away flying past. I always give it a slow, admiring pass on my way to your rooftop.
My farfar says Norway uses money from its oil industry to help take care of everyone in the whole country. Is that true?
It is true, Live, Norway has set aside much of its oil wealth into a fund meant to benefit the entire country, both now and for future generations. That kind of careful, generous planning for everyone’s wellbeing is really something worth admiring.
