Camden, age 8 from Charlotte, North Carolina, asks Santa if he really comes, the city’s banking prominence, and the Wright brothers’ first flight.
Dear Santa, my name is Camden, and I am eight years old. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, where my dad says the very first successful airplane flight in history happened right here in our own state.
Dear Camden, a state that helped invent flight makes for one of the most fitting stops on my entire route, your dad picked a truly high-flying hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Does Santa come? My little sister still worries every single year that you might skip our house by accident.
I always come, Camden, every single Christmas Eve without fail, snow, rain, or anything in between. Tell your little sister no house ever gets skipped, not on my watch.
My dad says Charlotte is one of the biggest banking centers in the whole country. Is that true?
It is true, Camden, Charlotte ranks as one of the largest financial centers in the entire United States, second only to New York. I always enjoy that impressive, glowing skyline flying over on my way to your rooftop.
My dad says the Wright brothers made the first successful airplane flight right here in North Carolina. Is that true?
It is true, Camden, the Wright brothers achieved the first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, right there in North Carolina, forever changing how the world travels. I like to think my own sleigh owes a small debt of gratitude to that kind of pioneering spirit.
Merry Christmas, Santa.
Your friend,
Camden Pierce
Charlotte, North Carolina
P.S. Will you tell my sister our house is definitely on the list?
Already confirmed, Camden, right at the very top.
