Dear Santa, my name is Carys, and I am nine years old. I live in Swansea, Wales, where my mam says a famous poet who wrote about Christmas grew up right here in our own city.
Dear Carys, a city that produced such beautiful Christmas writing deserves a very appreciative flyover, your mam picked a truly poetic hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Can I disguise a turkey as Santa? My school wants us to do a fun project dressing one up before the holidays.
That sounds like a wonderfully creative project, Carys, plenty of children enjoy dressing up a paper or stuffed turkey in a jolly little disguise. I would be flattered by any turkey brave enough to borrow my look.
My mam says Swansea is the second largest city in all of Wales. Is that true?
It is true, Carys, Swansea ranks as Wales’s second largest city, sitting right along a beautiful bay. I always enjoy that coastal view flying in to visit you.
My mam says Wales has its own language that a lot of people still speak alongside English. Is that true?
It is true, Carys, Welsh remains a living, spoken language across the country, proudly taught and used alongside English. That kind of care for keeping an old language alive is really something worth celebrating.
