Dear Santa, my name is Beau, and I am eight years old. I live in Helena, Montana, where my grandpa says our whole state is called Big Sky Country because the sky here just seems to stretch on forever.
Dear Beau, that endless sky has guided my sleigh more than once, your grandpa picked a truly wide open hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Does Cabela’s have Santa? My grandpa wants to take me there for a photo like he did when he was little.
Many outdoor stores, including that one, do welcome a Santa figure for photos during the season, Beau. Ask your grandpa to check the schedule, a family tradition passed down like that is worth continuing.
My grandpa says Montana is nicknamed Big Sky Country because of how open and wide it feels. Is that true?
It is true, Beau, Montana’s wide open plains and mountains make the sky feel enormous and endless. I always enjoy that spacious, easy flying on my way to your rooftop.
My grandpa says hunting and outdoor traditions have been passed down through generations of families in Montana. Is that true?
It is true, Beau, outdoor skills and traditions have been shared from grandparent to grandchild across Montana for a very long time. That kind of passing down of knowledge and time together is really a wonderful kind of gift.
