Dear Santa, my name is Jada, and I am nine years old. I live in Atlanta, Georgia, where my daddy says our airport is the busiest one in the entire world, with planes landing and taking off practically every minute.
Dear Jada, an airport that busy makes for one of the noisiest, liveliest neighbors on my whole route, your daddy picked a truly bustling hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Is there a Black Santa? My mama took me to see one at our mall last year and I loved it.
There absolutely is, Jada, Santa shows up in many different appearances across communities everywhere, because kindness and Christmas spirit look like every single one of you. Your mall visit sounds like it was a truly wonderful one.
My daddy says Atlanta is a really important hub for planes flying all over the country and the world. Is that true?
It is true, Jada, Atlanta’s airport connects flights to destinations all across the globe, making your city one of the busiest travel hubs anywhere. I always give it a respectful, careful pass on my own busiest night of the year.
My daddy says Atlanta played a really important role in the civil rights movement, and a famous leader was born right here. Is that true?
It is true, Jada, Atlanta is the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and played a major role in the civil rights movement, a history of courage and hope for a fairer world. That kind of standing up for kindness and justice is exactly the spirit I hope every child carries with them.
