Dear Santa, my name is Léa and I am nine years old. I live in Sherbrooke, Quebec, where my grand-père says two rivers meet right in our own city, which is exactly why people call us the City of Rivers.
Dear Léa, your grand-père is entirely right, and I have admired that particular meeting point myself while flying over.
Santa, I have three questions.
My first question is, is there a Santa animation? My little brother wants to know if there is more than just one.
There are indeed many, Léa, in all sorts of different styles across many decades. I try not to play favorites among them, purely to keep the peace at the workshop.
My second question is about our rivers. My teacher says the Saint-François River flows right through Sherbrooke. Is that true?
It is, Léa. The Saint-François River winds through Sherbrooke, meeting the Magog River within the city itself. Flying over that particular confluence each Christmas Eve is a genuinely lovely part of my Canadian route.
My third question is, why does our city have the nickname City of Rivers specifically?
Sherbrooke earned that nickname from the meeting of its two rivers, Léa, a defining feature that has shaped the city’s history and identity since it was first settled. I always find that kind of watery geography genuinely beautiful to fly over.
