Is There a Santa Bobblehead?

Aigerim, age 8 from Almaty, Kazakhstan, asks Santa about bobbleheads, the Tian Shan mountains, and the city’s former capital status.

Dear Santa, my name is Aigerim, and I am eight years old. I live in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where my azhe says snowy mountains rise right behind our whole city.

Dear Aigerim, a city with mountains rising right behind it deserves a very scenic flyover, your azhe picked a truly majestic hometown.

Santa, I have three questions.

Is there a Santa bobblehead? My agha collects little bobbing figures and wants one shaped like you.

There certainly are bobblehead versions of me out there, Aigerim, my head wobbling along cheerfully on a little spring. Your agha’s collection sounds like it has found a proper new addition.

My azhe says Almaty sits at the foot of the Tian Shan mountains. Is that true?

It is true, Aigerim, the Tian Shan mountains rise dramatically just beyond your city, a truly stunning backdrop. I always enjoy that snowy, majestic view flying in to visit you.

My azhe says Almaty used to be the capital of Kazakhstan before the capital moved to a different city. Is that true?

It is true, Aigerim, Almaty served as Kazakhstan’s capital for many years before the government moved to a newly built city. That kind of thoughtful, forward-looking planning is really something worth admiring.

Merry Christmas, Santa.

Your friend,
Aigerim Bekova
Almaty, Kazakhstan

P.S. Will you bring my agha a bobblehead of the reindeer too?

Already wrapped, Aigerim, the whole team deserves a proper likeness.
