Dear Santa, my name is Rosa, and I am eight years old. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where my abuela says our city actually shares part of your very own name.
Dear Rosa, sharing a name with a whole city is one of my favorite kinds of coincidence, your abuela picked a truly fitting hometown.
Santa, I have three questions.
Is there a giant inflatable Santa? My neighbor puts one up every year and it is taller than our whole house.
There certainly are giant inflatable Santas out there, Rosa, some towering right over rooftops just like your neighbor’s. I always get a good laugh flying past one that size, it is hard to miss.
My abuela says Santa Fe is the highest state capital in the entire country. Is that true?
It is true, Rosa, Santa Fe sits higher above sea level than any other state capital in the United States. I always give the sleigh a little extra lift before landing there.
My abuela says our city blends Native American, Spanish, and Mexican traditions all together. Is that true?
