Is There a Santa Elf Movie? II

Margot, age 9 from Bruges, Belgium, asks Santa about elf movies, the city’s famous canals, and Belgium’s chocolate craftsmanship.

Dear Santa, my name is Margot, and I am nine years old. I live in Bruges, Belgium, where my papa says our winding canals have earned our city the nickname Venice of the North.

Dear Margot, a nickname borrowed from Venice is quite the compliment, your papa picked a truly picturesque hometown.

Santa, I have three questions.

Is there a Santa elf movie? My frere says he saw a funny one about an elf who becomes Santa’s helper.

There are a good number of films about elves and Christmas helpers out there, Margot, each with its own charming take on the story. Your frere may have stumbled onto one of the many fun ones made over the years.

My papa says Bruges is famous for its beautiful old canals winding through the whole city. Is that true?

It is true, Margot, Bruges’ canals wind gracefully through the historic city center, lined with charming old buildings. I always enjoy that peaceful, watery view flying over on my way to your rooftop.

My papa says Belgium is famous around the world for its skilled chocolate makers. Is that true?

It is true, Margot, Belgium has earned a well deserved reputation for exceptional chocolate craftsmanship, passed down through generations of skilled makers. That kind of careful, patient artistry is really something worth savoring, Christmas and every day after.

Merry Christmas, Santa.

Your friend,
Margot Claes
Bruges, Belgium

P.S. Will you bring some Belgian chocolate back to the workshop this year?

Already on the list, Margot, the elves have exquisite taste.
