Is There a Soft Toy Santa?

Is There a Soft Toy Santa?

Journey, age 9 from Trondheim, Norway, asks Santa about plush toys, the Nidelva river, and the city’s history as Norway’s old capital.

Dear Santa, my name is Journey, and I am nine years old. I live in Trondheim, Norway, where my farfar says our city has a really old, beautiful wooden cathedral.

Dear Journey, a city with a cathedral that old and beautiful deserves a very respectful flyover, your farfar picked a truly historic hometown.

Santa, I have three questions.

Is there a soft toy Santa? My lillesoster wants a cuddly one to sleep with this Christmas.

There certainly are soft, cuddly versions of me out there, Journey, perfect for a bedtime hug. Your lillesoster sounds like she has a wonderfully cozy wish for Christmas morning.

My farfar says Trondheim sits along the Nidelva river, near a fjord. Is that true?

It is true, Journey, the Nidelva river flows right through your city on its way to a beautiful fjord. I always follow that glimmering path to help find my way to your rooftop.

My farfar says Trondheim used to be the capital of Norway a very long time ago. Is that true?

It is true, Journey, Trondheim served as Norway’s capital many centuries ago, an important seat of early Norwegian kings. That kind of deep, storied history is really something worth being proud of.

Merry Christmas, Santa.

Your friend,
Journey Solberg
Trondheim, Norway

P.S. Will you bring your own soft toy for the sleigh ride this year?

Only briefly, Journey, my reindeer already keep me plenty warm.
